280 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn Maysarah al-Jushamī al-Qawārīrī narrated to me, saying: Yahyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, from Sufyān, from al-Suddī, from ʿAbd Khayr, from ʿAlī, who said:

“May Allah have mercy on Abū Bakr. He was the first to compile the Quran between two covers.”
