250 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to me, saying: Abū al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Husayn. [Chain transition.] ‘Ubayd Allāh ibn ‘Umar al-Qawārīrī also narrated to me, saying: Hushaym narrated to us. Husayn ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmān said: We were informed, from Hilāl ibn Yasāf, from ‘Abd Allāh ibn Zālim al-Māzinī, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd ibn ‘Amr ibn Nufayl, who said:

We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on Hirā’, and he said:

“Be still, Hirā’! Upon you are none but a prophet, or a man of utmost truthfulness, or a martyr.”

He was asked, “Who were they?” He replied, “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Abū Bakr, ‘Umar, ‘Uthmān, ‘Alī, Talhah, al-Zubayr, Sa‘d, and Ibn ‘Awf.” He was asked, “Who was the tenth?” He replied, “I was,” meaning himself. Sa‘īd ibn Zayd said, “I testify that the nine are in Paradise, and if I were to testify concerning the tenth, I would not be sinning.”

251 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, saying: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Husayn, from Hilāl, from ‘Abd Allāh ibn Zālim, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a similar report.

252 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: My father narrated to me, saying: Mu‘āwiyah—meaning Ibn ‘Amr—narrated to us, from Zā’idah, from Husayn, through his chain of transmission, the same report.

253 – ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, saying: Wakī‘ narrated to us, saying: Sufyān narrated to us, from Husayn and Mansūr, from Hilāl—meaning Ibn Yasāf—from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd. Wakī‘ said: Sufyān said, “From Husayn, from Hilāl, from Ibn Zālim, from Sa‘īd ibn Zayd.” Mansūr did not narrate it to him from Hilāl, from Sa‘īd, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). A similar report.
