227 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Salamah ibn Shabīb narrated to me, saying: Abū Dāwūd al-Tayālisī narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abān al-Juʿfī narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Rufayʿ, from Ibn Abī Mulaykah, from the Mother of the Believers, ʿĀʾishah, who said:

When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became gravely ill, he said, “Summon ʿAbd al-Rahmān ibn Abī Bakr for me so that I may write a document for Abū Bakr, leaving no room for disagreement concerning him for as long as you live.” Then he said, “Allah forbid that the believers should disagree concerning Abū Bakr.”
