224 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Muqaddamī narrated to me, saying: Fudayl ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, saying: Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah narrated to us, saying: Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to me, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, concerning the dream of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about Abū Bakr and ʿUmar. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“I saw the people gathered together. Abū Bakr stood up and drew one or two bucketfuls of water, though there was weakness in his drawing—may Allah forgive him. Then ʿUmar stood up, and the bucket became a large one. He drew enough water to quench their thirst. I have never seen a man of such exceptional ability draw water as he did, until the people settled down with their camels at the watering place.”
