223 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Abū Maʿmar narrated to me: Ibn Abī Hāzim narrated to us, saying:

A man came to ʿAlī ibn Husayn and asked, “What was the position of Abū Bakr and ʿUmar in relation to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?”

He replied, “Just as their position in relation to him is now.”
