215 - ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Bakkār narrated to me, saying: ‘Anbasa ibn ‘Abd al-Wāhid al-Qurashī narrated to us, saying: Sa‘īd al-Jurayrī narrated to us, from ‘Abdullāh ibn Shaqīq al-‘Uqaylī, who said:

I asked ‘Ā’isha, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Which of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was most beloved to him?”

She replied: “Abū Bakr al-Siddīq.”

I asked her: “Then who?”

She replied: “Then ‘Umar ibn al-Khattāb.”
