207 - ‘Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Hudba ibn Khālid narrated to us, saying: Hammām narrated to us, saying: Qatāda narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sīrīn, from ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Ās, who said:

I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in one of the gardens of Medina. A man came and asked permission to enter. He said, “Get up, admit him, and give him glad tidings of Paradise.” I got up and admitted him, and there was Abū Bakr. I gave him glad tidings of Paradise, and he kept praising Allah until he sat down.

Then another man came and asked permission to enter. He said, “Get up, admit him, and give him glad tidings of Paradise.” I got up and admitted him, and there was ‘Umar. I gave him glad tidings of Paradise, and he kept praising Allah until he sat down.

Then a man with a soft voice came and asked permission to enter. He said, “Get up, admit him, and give him glad tidings of Paradise, with a trial to endure.” I got up and admitted him, and there was ‘Uthmān. I gave him glad tidings of Paradise, with a trial to endure, and he kept saying, “O Allah, grant me patience,” until he sat down.

I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what about me?” He said, “You will be with your father.”

٢٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قثنا هَمَّامٌ قثنا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَشٍّ مِنْ حُشَّانِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَقَالَ: «قُمْ فَائْذَنْ لَهُ، وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ» ، فَقُمْتُ فَأَذِنْتُ لَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَبَشَّرْتُهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ، فَجَعَلَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ حَتَّى جَلَسَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَقَالَ: «قُمْ فَائْذَنْ لَهُ، وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ» ، فَقُمْتُ فَأَذِنْتُ لَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُمَرُ، فَبَشَّرْتُهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ، فَجَعَلَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ حَتَّى جَلَسَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ خَفِيضُ الصَّوْتِ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَقَالَ: «قُمْ فَائْذَنْ لَهُ، وَبَشِّرْهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى بَلْوَى» ، فَقُمْتُ فَأَذِنْتُ لَهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ، فَبَشَّرْتُهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ عَلَى بَلْوَى، فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ صَبْرًا حَتَّى جَلَسَ، قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ: فَأَنَا، قَالَ: «أَنْتَ مَعَ أَبِيكَ» .
