165 - ‘Abdullāh narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Yahyā ibn Zakariyyā ibn Abī Zā’ida narrated to us: I heard Mujālid say: I testify that Abū al-Waddāk attested that he heard Abū Sa‘īd al-Khudrī say: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:
“The people of Paradise will indeed see the inhabitants of ‘Illiyyīn just as you see a brilliant star on the horizon of the sky. Abū Bakr and ‘Umar are indeed among them, and well deserving they are.”
He then said: Ismā‘īl ibn Abī Khālid, who was sitting with Mujālid on the rug, said: “I too testify that ‘Atiyya al-‘Awfī attested that Abū Sa‘īd al-Khudrī heard the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) say that.”
١٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُجَالِدًا يَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ لَيَرَوْنَ أَهْلَ عِلِّيِّينَ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ الْكَوْكَبَ الدُّرِّيَّ فِي أُفُقِ السَّمَاءِ، وَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ لَمِنْهُمْ، وَأَنْعَمَا» . فَقَالَ: قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ مَعَ مُجَالِدٍ عَلَى الطِّنْفِسَةِ: وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ.
