155 - ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Wakī‘ narrated to us: Al-A‘mash narrated to us, from ‘Abd Allāh ibn Murra, from Abū al-Ahwas, from ‘Abd Allāh, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Know that I disclaim every bond of intimate friendship with another person. Were I to take an intimate friend, I would take Abū Bakr as an intimate friend. Your companion is indeed Allah’s intimate friend.”
