Fadail al-Sahabah li-Ahmad ibn HanbalAhmad Ibn Hanbal

149 - ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: My father narrated to me: Mu‘āwiyah ibn ‘Amr narrated to us: Zā’idah narrated to us, from ‘Āsim, from Abū Sālih, from Abū Hurayrah, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

“I saw myself at a well, drawing water with a bucket. Then Abū Bakr took it and drew one or two bucketfuls, with some weakness in his drawing—may Allah have mercy on him. Then ‘Umar took it and did not cease drawing until it became a large bucket. Then the camels were made to kneel by the water. I have never seen a master draw water better than ‘Umar.”
