146 - ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us: My father narrated to us: Yahyā ibn Ādam narrated to us: Zuhayr narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nubayh, from Abū Sa‘īd al-Khudrī, who reported that they set out on a journey with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and camped in groups, one group with one man and another with another.
He said: “I camped with Abū Bakr’s group. With us was a Bedouin from the desert. We stayed with a Bedouin household in which there was a pregnant woman. The Bedouin said to her, ‘I bring you glad tidings that you will bear a boy, if you give me a sheep.’ She bore a boy and gave him a sheep, and he recited some rhymed phrases to her.”
He said: “He slaughtered the sheep. When the people sat down to eat, a man said, ‘Do you know how this sheep was obtained?’ He then told them. I saw Abū Bakr apart from the others, facing forward and making himself vomit.”
