122 — ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Hārūn ibn Sufyān narrated to me, saying: Mu‘āwiyah—that is, Ibn ‘Amr—narrated to us, saying: Zā’idah narrated to us, saying: Mughīrah narrated to us, from Ibrāhīm, who said:

A man said to ‘Umar, “I have never seen a man better than you.” ‘Umar asked him, “Have you seen Abū Bakr?” He replied, “No.” ‘Umar said, “Had you said yes, I would have flogged you.”
