Ahmad informed us,

69 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; Khalaf narrated to us; he said: Abu ʿAwanah narrated to us, from Abu al-Juwayriyah, who said: “I asked Ibn ʿAbbās about al-bādhīq and said, ‘Give me a legal verdict concerning bādhīq.’ He replied, ‘Muhammad has already ruled on bādhīq: whatever intoxicates—or, rather, every intoxicant—is forbidden.’”
