Ahmad informed us, and Abu Bakr narrated to us:
63 – A man standing at the door of Ibn ʿĀʾisha—whose kunya (teknonym) was Abū Muḥammad—related to me. He said: ʿAbbād al-Minqarī remarked, “If sound reason were a commodity that could be bought and sold, people would pay extravagant prices to obtain it. How strange, then, that there are those who spend their wealth on things that rob them of their very intellects!”
