Ahmad informed us.
57 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; ʿAmr ibn Muhammad al-Naqid narrated to us; he said: ʿAli al-Nasaʾi narrated to us, saying: “ʿIsa ibn Yunus and Abu Ishaq al-Fazari once came to us in al-Raqqa. A man stood up before Abu Ishaq and said, ‘Abu Ishaq, what is your ruling on nabidh?’ He kept silent. The man repeated, ‘Abu Ishaq, answer us—what do you say about nabidh?’ He replied, ‘I do not know what to tell you, except that I once saw a madman who would fall into fits, and his head was no different from that of a drunkard.’”
