Ahmad narrated to us,

25 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; he said: Dāwūd ibn ʿAmr ibn Zuhayr al-Dabbī narrated to us; he said: Dāwūd al-ʿAṭṭār narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUthmān ibn Khuthaym, from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab, from Asmāʾ bint Yazīd, who said:

“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Whoever drinks wine, Allah will not be pleased with him for forty days. If he dies in that state, he dies a disbeliever; if he repents, Allah accepts his repentance. But if he reverts to it, it becomes incumbent upon Allah to make him drink from ṭīnatu al-khabāl.’”

She said, “I asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is ṭīnatu al-khabāl?’” He replied, “The pus of the inhabitants of Hellfire.”
