Ahmad informed us.
2 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Asadi narrated to us; he said: Ibrahim ibn Saʿd narrated to us, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: I heard ʿUthman—may Allah be pleased with him—say, “Wine is the gathering point of every abomination.” He then went on to relate a story from the Children of Israel, saying: “A man was given the choice either to kill a child, to erase a scripture, or to drink wine. He decided to drink the wine, thinking it the lightest of the three; but no sooner had he drunk it than he went on to commit all three.”
