20 – Abu Bakr narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bazi‘ narrated to us; he said: al-Fuḍayl ibn Sulayman narrated to us; he said: ‘Umar ibn Sa‘id, on the authority of al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman, from ‘A’ishah, reported:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the bit‘—bit‘ is a honey-based fermented drink that the people of Yemen used to consume—so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Every intoxicant is forbidden, every intoxicant is forbidden.”
