12 – Abu Bakr related to us; Ismaʿil ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Zurara narrated to us; he said: Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani reported, from Hassan ibn Makharij, from Umm Salama, that she once prepared nabidh (a fermenting date drink). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived while the nabidh was still bubbling. He asked, “What is this?” I replied, “So-and-so was ill and this was prescribed for her.” She said: He pushed it over with his foot, breaking the vessel, and declared, “Allah has not placed healing in anything unlawful.”
