87 – Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from a shaykh who related it to him, that: “Malik ibn Dinar—may Allah have mercy on him—met Aban ibn Abi ʿAyyash. Malik said, ‘How long will you keep telling people about dispensations (rukhaṣ)?’ Aban replied, ‘O Abū Yaḥyā, I am hopeful that on the Day of Resurrection you will witness such forgiveness from Allah that you will tear this very cloak of yours in delight.’”
