75 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to us; Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us; al-Haytham ibn Jammāz informed us; Thābit al-Bunānī narrated to us, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said:
The Prophet ﷺ said, “When Adam (peace be upon him) performed the pilgrimage and completed its rites, the angels came to him at al-Abṭaḥ and said, ‘Peace be upon you, O Adam. We made pilgrimage to this House two thousand years before you.’
Adam then said, ‘My Lord, I have finished the rites; what is my reward?’
Allah revealed, ‘Ask of Me, O Adam, whatever you wish.’
He said, ‘I ask You to forgive me and my descendants.’
Allah revealed to him, ‘O Adam, you disobeyed Me while you were in Paradise, yet I have forgiven you that sin. As for your offspring, whoever believes in Me and admits his sin, I will forgive him.’”
