65 – My father narrated to me and said, “ʿAbd al-Wahhāb informed us; Saʿīd informed us, from Qatādah, who said: It was related to us that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: ‘If a servant truly knew the extent of Allah’s pardon, he would no longer refrain from what is forbidden; and if he truly knew the extent of His punishment, he would destroy himself out of despair.’”
