47 – Abu Ḥafṣ al-Ṣaffār narrated to us; Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān narrated to us; Abu ʿImrān al-Jawnī narrated to us, from Jundub ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Bajalī, who said:
“A man from a bygone people once exclaimed, ‘By Allah, Allah will never forgive so-and-so—ever!’ Thereupon Allah revealed to the prophet living in that era: ‘Tell him that I have indeed forgiven that person and have voided your own deeds. Does he presume to swear an oath against Me?’”
