38 – Abū Isḥāq al-Riyāḥī narrated to me, Murajjaʿ ibn Wadaʿ related to us, saying: “A young man who had led a reckless life was on the verge of death. His mother asked, ‘My dear son, do you wish to leave any instruction?’ He replied, ‘Yes: do not remove my ring, for it carries the remembrance of Allah; perhaps Allah will show me mercy through it.’ He died, and later he was seen in a dream saying, ‘Tell my mother that that very word has benefited me, and that Allah has forgiven me.’”
