Husn al-Zann bi-llahIbn Abi al-Dunya

32 – Khalid ibn Khidash narrated to us; Mahdi ibn Maymun narrated to us; from Ghaylan ibn Jarir; from Shahr ibn Hawshab; from Maʿdi Karib; from Abu Dharr (Allah be pleased with him), who reported that the Prophet ﷺ, conveying words from his Lord, said:

“O son of Adam, as long as you call upon Me and place your hope in Me, I shall forgive you for whatever you have done, and it will not trouble Me. Were you to meet Me with sins nearly filling the earth, I would meet you with forgiveness equal to it. And were you to heap up sins until they reached the clouds of the sky, yet you did not associate anything with Me, and then you asked My pardon, I would forgive you—and that would not burden Me in the least.”
