24 – ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; Shuʿbah informed us; from Yahyā ibn Abī Sulaym. He said: I heard ʿAmr ibn Maymūn narrating from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ (may Allah be pleased with them both). He said: “If the servants were not to commit sins, Allah would create servants who would commit sins, and then He would forgive them, for He is indeed the All-Forgiving, the Ever-Merciful.”
