21 – Ishaq ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from Layth, from ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, from ʿAbd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
“Allah is more merciful to His servant on the day He receives him—or, on the day the servant meets Him—than a lone mother who lays out a bed for her child on cold ground, then rises to feel the bedding with her hand: if there is a thorn, she is pricked by it before he is; and if there is a sting, she suffers it before he does.”
