114 – Abu ʿAli al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥman related to us, and Abu ʿImran al-Sulami recited:
[Long Meter]
I commit a sin, fully aware of its weight,
Yet I know that Allah pardons and forgives.
Though people may magnify sins in their sight,
However great they appear, in Allah’s mercy they dwindle.
١١٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَأَنْشَدَنِي أَبُو عِمْرَانَ السُّلَمِيُّ:
[البحر الطويل]
وَإِنِّي لَآتِي الذَّنْبَ أَعْرِفُ قَدْرَهُ ... وَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْفُو وَيَغْفِرُ
لَئِنْ عَظَّمَ النَّاسُ الذُّنُوبَ فَإِنَّهَا ... وَإِنْ عَظُمَتْ فِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَصْغُرُ "
