100 – Muhammad ibn ʿAbbad al-Makki related to us, from Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah, who said:
“Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir led the funeral prayer for a man from Madina who had been in the habit of offering blameworthy eulogies. Afterwards he remarked, ‘I would be ashamed before Allah for it to be known from my heart that I had ever supposed His mercy unable to reach him.’”
