Khalaf ibn Hisham narrated to us, saying: Awn ibn Musa narrated to us, saying: I heard Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah say, “They were discussing in the presence of al-Hasan which deed is the most excellent. It seemed they had all agreed on standing in prayer at night. I then said, ‘Abstaining from the forbidden acts.’ Al-Hasan took notice and declared, ‘The matter is settled; the matter is settled.’”
