Al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to me, saying: Abū Jaʿfar al-Ṣaffār related to me that a woman from Basra once declared, “A heart into which love for this world has crept is barred from receiving that subtle form of scrupulous piety.”
