228 – Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us; Ibrahim ibn Muhammad transmitted; Damrah narrated from al-Muthanna ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said: An uncle of mine—he used to sit with al-Hasan—wrote to me: “Of supplication joined to scrupulous piety, only as much is needed as the salt required for a cooking-pot.”
