176 – Al-Husayn ibn ʿAli al-Kufi narrated to us; he said: Ahmad ibn ʿUbayd al-Rarani narrated to us; he said: al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn Mūsā al-Baṣri narrated to us, from Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī, that Sulaymān ibn ʿAbd al-Malik asked Abū Ḥāzim, “Which deeds are the most virtuous?” He replied, “To fulfil the prescribed obligations while keeping clear of the prohibitions.”
