12 – Abu Jaʿfar Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Ādamī related to me that Yaḥyā ibn Sulaym narrated to them, through ʿUmar ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The pinnacle of God-consciousness is patience; its true substance is action, and its perfection is scrupulous piety.”
