2 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Abu ʿAbd Allah Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Hashim ibn al-Qasim, from Abu Muhammad al-Kufi, who said: al-Hasan ⦗28⦘ declared:
“Certain people were so distracted by wishful hopes of divine pardon that they left this world without a single good deed to their credit. One of them would say, ‘I entertain a good opinion of my Lord.’ He is lying. Had he truly held a good opinion of his Lord, he would have acted righteously.”
