- ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn told me; he said: al-Qāsim b. al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. Mukhtār b. Fulful told me; he said:
Dāwūd al-Ṭāʾī once said to ʿUqbah b. Mūsā—who was a close friend of his—“O ʿUqbah, how can anyone find solace from grief when calamities are renewed upon him at every moment?”
At these words ʿUqbah collapsed unconscious, for he was counted among those who strove earnestly in devotion.
