168 – Muhammad narrated to me, saying: Ahmad ibn Abi al-Hawari narrated to me, saying: Ahmad ibn Wadiʿ related to us, who said: Abu Muʿawiyah al-Aswad said, “Everything has a yield, and the yield of righteous deeds is sorrow; whoever is sorrowful because of Allah’s decree is thereby raised high by that very decree.”
