151 – ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn al-Muḥāribī narrated to me, from Mālik ibn Mighwal, from someone who reported to him, from al-Musayyab ibn Rāfiʿ, who said: ʿAbd Allāh said, “It befits the bearer of the Quran to be given to weeping, sorrowful, wise, quiet, and gentle. It does not befit the bearer of the Quran to be rough, heedless, boisterous, or loud-voiced.”
