144 — ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: ʿUmar ibn Bukayr informed me, on the authority of an elder from Quraysh, who said: A man had been with Zayd ibn al-Khattab at al-Yamamah. After Zayd was killed, the man returned. When ʿUmar looked at him, his eyes welled up with tears and he said, “You left Zayd lying there and yet you have come back to me!”
