135 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me; al-Ṣalt ibn Ḥakīm narrated to me; Hārūn Abū al-Ṭayyib said: Allah revealed to one of the prophets of the Children of Israel:
“If you long to meet Me in the Sanctified Enclosure, then in this world be anxious and sorrowful, solitary and alone, estranged like a lone bird that flies across desolate wastes, pecks at the tops of trees, and drinks from spring water. When night encloses it, it withdraws by itself, finding intimacy with its Lord and estrangement from the other birds.”
١٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، حَدَّثَنِي الصَّلْتُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا هَارُونُ أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ، قَالَ: أَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى بَعْضِ أَنْبِيَاءِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ: «إِنْ أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ تَلْقَانِي فِي حَظِيرَةِ الْقُدْسِ، فَكُنْ فِي الدُّنْيَا مَهْمُومًا مَحْزُونًا فَرِيدًا وَحِيدًا مُسْتَوْحِشًا بِمَنْزِلَةِ الطَّيْرِ الْوَحْدَانِي الَّذِي يَطِيرُ فِي أَرْضِ الْقِفَارِ، وَيَأْكُلُ مِنْ رُءُوسِ الْأَشْجَارِ وَيَشْرَبُ مِنْ مَاءِ الْعُيُونِ، فَإِذَا جَنَّهُ اللَّيْلُ أَوَى وَحْدُهُ اسْتِئْنَاسًا بِرَبِّهِ، وَاسْتِيحَاشًا مِنَ الطَّيْرِ»
