125 – ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us; he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn informed me, Shuʿayth ibn Muḥriz related to me from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Zayd, who said: “I have never seen a young man who so captured the heart, nor anyone whose grief endured longer, than ʿUtbah al-Ghulām. More than once I would relate a hadith to him and he would weep until I thought, ‘He is going to die this very moment.’”
