Al-Nafaqa 'ala al-'IyalIbn Abi al-Dunya

672 – Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān narrated to us; Abū Shihāb said: we were told by Ibn Abī Laylā, from ʿĪsā ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā, from his father, who said:

“I was in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when either al-Ḥasan or al-Ḥusayn was brought to him, and the child urinated on him. Some of the people wanted to snatch the child away, but he ﷺ said, ‘My son, my son!’ When the child had finished, he ﷺ poured water over the spot.”
