646 – Through this same chain, Zuhayr ibn Muʿāwiyah narrated to us; from Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUqbah; from Kurayb, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was traveling in the valley of al-Rawḥāʾ. He came upon a caravan—or a group—at the rear of the people and asked, “Who are these people?” They replied, “The Muslims.” They then asked, “Who are you?” He said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” A woman who was in her maḥfa (litter) took hold of a child by the upper arm—or lifted a child by the upper arm—and said, “O Messenger of Allah, does this one have a Hajj?” He answered, “Yes, and you will have a reward,” or he said, “You have the Hajj and he has a reward.” This is how Ibrāhīm reported it; I do not know whether the uncertainty is from him or from Kurayb.
