633 – Yaḥyā ibn Yūsuf al-Zimmī narrated to us; Abū Tulayḥ narrated to us; he said: Maymūn used to strike an orphan who was under his care, and the orphan would plead, “Will you not show mercy to this orphan? Fear Allah concerning this orphan!” Even as Maymūn continued to beat him, he kept saying, “Allāhumma aṣliḥ hādhā l-yatīm (O Allah, rectify this orphan).”
