Al-Nafaqa 'ala al-'IyalIbn Abi al-Dunya

625 – ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣāliḥ narrated to me; Yaʿlā ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us, from al-Ḥārith ibn ʿUmayr, from Ayyūb, from Muḥammad, who said: “Gladden the orphan with a fine garment you clothe him in and with whatever kindness you do for him, for that delights his young heart all the more swiftly. If he lives, his provision will reach him; and if he dies, you were the one most entitled to have spent his wealth.”
