611 – Ishaq ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Sufyan narrated; from Ismaʿil ibn Umayyah, who said: My father informed me, from the Prophet ﷺ: “The one who strives on behalf of a widow and a poor person is like a warrior in the cause of Allah, one who spends his nights in prayer and his days in fasting; and whoever undertakes the care of an orphan—his own or another’s—while fearing Allah, I and he will be in Paradise like these two, or like this next to this,” and he gestured with his index and middle fingers.
