601 – Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us; Ismail ibn ‘Ayyash narrated to us, from ‘Umārah ibn Ghaziyyah, from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from his father, who used to say to his sons: “My sons, come and study, for you are soon to become the elders of your people. I was once a youngster whom no one noticed, but when I reached the age I have now attained, people began to question me—how burdensome it is for a person to be asked about a matter of his religion and not know the answer.”
