62 – Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Yazid ibn Zurayʿ narrated to us, from Husayn al-Muʿallim, who said: I asked ʿAtaʾ about the ʿaqiqah. He replied: “For a boy, two sheep; for a girl, one. The animal is to be slaughtered on the seventh day if possible, otherwise on the fourteenth, and if that is not feasible, then on the twenty-first.”
