60 – ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿUmar narrated to us; Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from ʿAsim, from Hafsah bint Sirin, from al-Rabab, from her uncle Salman ibn ʿAmir, who traced it back to the Prophet — peace and blessings be upon him:
“For a baby boy there is an ʿaqiqah (post-natal sacrifice); spill blood on his behalf and remove from him the harm.”
