576 – Al-Hasan ibn Ismāʿīl al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us; Hafṣ ibn Ghiyāth narrated to us; Ḥajjāj ibn Arṭāʾah, from Abū al-Malīḥ ibn Usāmah, from his father, from Shaddād ibn Aws, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Circumcision is a sunnah for men and a mark of honor for women.”
٥٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَأَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «الْخِتَانِ سُنَّةٌ لِلرِّجَالِ مَكْرُمَةٌ لِلنِّسَاءِ»
